It is widely thought that the next US administration’s foreign policy will differ from that of the Bush administration. This is probably true with regard to issues such as Iraq, climate change, democracy promotion, diplomatic contact with Iran and North Korea, and relations with key Asian states China, Japan, and India. The speaker will suggest that the candidates are less distinct from each other than we might have been led to believe.
